DIGIPAK/ TOUR POSTER

The Colour Scheme

The colour scheme across my digipaks and tour poster was developed from my music video. I wanted there to be clear house style between all three pieces of material. I used the colour theme of bluey/purple and pink as these were the lighting colours that were used in the music video and i wanted to keep the house style. My main image which I used on my tour poster i used an image with a black background, this did not fit as much in with my digipak as the front and back cover was a bright colour. Therefore I chose to add the faded yellow lines that were used inside the digipaks to use on top of my tour magazine. I also used the TV scan lines that was on the music video and digipak. I did this so that my products had a distinct style in which went across all my products.

With the digipak I wanted to use the images with the two artists against the gold background that is shown in the music video during the bridge so that i had that house style through the colour scheme.

Typography

The typography which I have used on my tour poster is the same that I used in my music video and digipak. I did this because I wanted there to be synergy between my products so that an audience member will be able to identify them. I switched between different colours that contrasted for example, light pink, dark pink, muted yellowy green, white, pink and purple. theses colours were used in the music video and i decided to overlay the text with these colours to create synergy.

Layout

For my layout designs of my digipak I subverted conventions such as having my track list to the left hand side of the page and not in the centre. By doing this creates a distinctive style that it attracts the audience because it subverts the conventions as identified by Neale.

Target Audience

My target audience for my digipak and tour poster is 15-19 year old people of both genders. Young of this generation are usually exposed to sexual content which influences them strongly especially from the media. Therefore, when I created my tour posters and digipaks I decided to subvert this convention proposed by Michael Shore. In doing this I created a dominate third reading a therefore distinct products.
