CREATING SYNERGY

As a group we ensure that we had a distinct house style throughout all three of our media products which allowed us to have clear synergy between them. To gain this, we had made sure that consistent production meetings in which we discussed ideas. From the beginning we new that we wanted to have clear synergy between all of our products. Therefore during production I had the idea to include TV scan lines onto the video. After this we had a group meeting and decided that this would be an effective way of promoting synergy through our work. When it came to creating the tour poster and digipak I looked back at the final draft of the music video and decided to follow the colour themes of pink and blue/purple in order to create a distinct house style.

In the researching a planning stage as a group we looked into Goodwins Theory in which suggest that the artists are shown as sexually appealing so that they attract audience members. We knew from the researching and planning stage that this is not want we wanted from our audience. Therefore you can see that across all three products that the clothing is not revealing as show of the artists figure. This has created synergy and a distint house style as throughout the three products the costume and make-up is the same and they all promote the same message, which subverts Goodwins theory.  

I believe that the products work really well together in a way of creating a unique and unified brand identity across all the tree media products. My digipak links back perfectly to to the music video because I have incorporated the TV scan lines, coloured walls, and even the dark studio shots of the artist in the video. This promotes my products as being unique.

If I could change anything so that the overall synergy between the products would be better I would have taken my tour poster image against a gold background so that there is more synergy from that between the products.  This would improve the identity branding for the artists as when the audience would see this colour they would recognize that the artist. Also the bright colours will make the audience believe that they are happy, inviting and friendly as this is what bright colours like gold/yellow connotes. For the music video i would have liked to add the geometric coloured lines that i have on my tour poster and digipak to the music video where the glitches happen or where lightly across the artists singing when they are in the studio. This is because I believe this would help me have a clear house style between my print products and the music video.
